Uttar Pradesh Government Reassigns 33 IAS Officers in Major Administrative Overhaul

The Uttar Pradesh government executed a significant administrative reorganization on Tuesday, reassigning 33 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including district magistrates of 11 districts and three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers.

Among the key changes, Shishir, previously the Director of Information, was appointed as the special secretary for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), export promotion, and CEO of the Khadi board. Kaushal Raj Sharma, formerly the Varanasi Divisional Commissioner, has been named the new secretary to the chief minister.

Vishal Singh, the District Magistrate of Bhadohi, will take up the role of Director of Information and Culture, while S Rajlingam, previously the District Magistrate of Varanasi, has been appointed as the Varanasi Divisional Commissioner.

The reshuffle also affected the district magistrates of Hapur, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Ambedkarnagar, Ghazipur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Bhadohi.

In the IPS cadre, DK Thakur has been named Additional Director General (ADG) of the Special Security Force (SSF) in Lucknow. Bhanu Bhaskar has been appointed as ADG of the Meerut Zone, and Dr. Sanjeev Gupta will serve as ADG of the Prayagraj Zone.

Additionally, 24 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were also reassigned as part of the overhaul.
