2 Feared Trapped After Building Collapses In Delhi’s Rohini; JCB Called To Clear Debris, NDRF Alerted For Assistance

New Delhi : A three-storey commercial building collapsed in Delhi’s Rohini on Wednesday afternoon. Several people are feared to be buried under the debris. The building, located in Sector 7 of Rohini, housed multiple commercial establishments. The extent of damage and cause of collapse are still under investigation.
According to preliminary information from Senior Technical Officer Paras, there is a strong possibility that several people may be trapped under the debris. The Delhi Fire Service received the distress call at approximately 4 pm, and four fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site, arriving by 4:20 pm.
“Multiple teams from various rescue agencies, including Delhi Police, fire department and NDRF, have reached the spot. We have cordoned off the area to prevent any untoward incident. The power department has turned off electricity supply in the area,” the officer told the news agency.
In coordination with rescue operations, the Delhi Police Control Room (PCR) has requested the deployment of a JCB (excavator) to assist in clearing debris. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) control room has also been notified and is expected to join the rescue efforts.
