‘₹132 Won’t Make Me Rich’: Cab Driver Ask Passenger Leave Without Paying in Viral Trending Video

A dashcam video showing a heated argument between a cab driver and a female passenger over a drop-off location has gone viral, sparking widespread debate online. The confrontation ended with the driver calmly telling the passenger she could leave without paying the ₹132 fare after she refused to pay and became verbally abusive.
The footage, which has garnered over 600,000 views on X (formerly Twitter), has drawn overwhelming support for the driver, whom viewers praised for his patience and professional handling of the situation.
What the Viral Video Shows
The video begins with the passenger demanding to be dropped off at a location beyond the destination specified in the ride-hailing app. When the driver refuses, she threatens to leave without paying, saying, “Main bhi bina payment ke nikal jaungi” (“I will also leave without paying”).
The driver calmly replies, “Aap bina payment ke nikal jayenge? Jaaiye ” (“You will leave without paying? Okay, go”).
As the argument escalates, the passenger insists that other drivers are usually more accommodating. The driver stands his ground, stating he is not obligated to go beyond the agreed-upon location. He then tells her, “Mujhe koi dikkat nahi hai. Ma’am ₹132 se na toh aap ameer ban jaa rahe, na main ban jaa raha. Uski tension mat lo ” (“I don’t have a problem. Ma’am, ₹132 won’t make me rich, and it won’t make you rich either. Don’t worry about it”).
The confrontation takes a turn when the woman uses disrespectful language, saying, “Pata nahi kis manhoos ghadi mein teri cab book kari ” (“Don’t know in what unlucky moment I booked your cab”). The driver asks her to speak politely, but she refuses and eventually exits the vehicle without paying the fare.
Mumbai Samachar has stated that it cannot independently verify the authenticity of the video.
Internet Divided but Largely Supports Driver
The video has ignited a fierce debate on social media platforms like X and Reddit. The majority of users have sided with the driver, condemning the passenger’s behavior as “entitled” and “arrogant”.
“Refusing to pay after using the service isn’t smartness. It’s pure arrogance. Shame on such entitled behaviour,” one X user wrote. Another commented, “Driver is right. When the Drop off location was given where he brought her, why should she force him to drop her somewhere else?”.
However, a minority of viewers suggested the driver could have handled the situation differently. One person noted, “The driver has to realise that he is in the service industry, basic requirement is to keep cool”.
