UTS App Stops Monthly Pass Bookings For Mumbai Local; Railway Passengers Directed To RailOne

Mumbai: Indian Railways has discontinued the facility to book monthly passes for local trains on the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) app, with commuters now required to use the new RailOne application for all railway pass bookings.

Passengers holding valid passes can continue displaying them on the UTS app to ticket-checking personnel. However, the option to purchase new passes through UTS has been permanently removed. A notification on the UTS app now instructs users to migrate to RailOne for pass-related transactions. The platform will continue to support unreserved ticket bookings despite the pass facility being withdrawn.

Digital Payment Users Get 3% Price Cut

To encourage digital transactions, the Railway Ministry has introduced a 3 per cent discount on unreserved tickets purchased through the RailOne app when paid using any digital payment method. This promotional offer will remain valid for six months, running from January 14, 2026 to July 14, 2026.

Previously, the 3 per cent cashback was available exclusively for payments made through the R-wallet on RailOne. Under the revised policy, passengers will receive an immediate discount when paying via UPI, debit cards, credit cards, or other digital platforms. The Railway Ministry issued a letter dated December 30 to the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), instructing prompt implementation of the required software modifications.
