Thieves Swipe Cosmetics Valued at Rs 21.7 Lakh in Daring Thane Heist

Unidentified thieves pulled off a bold burglary in Maharashtra’s Thane district, making off with cosmetics worth Rs 21.7 lakh from a storage facility, police reported on Friday. The crime occurred last week in the Purna area of Bhiwandi, according to an official.
The perpetrators reportedly gained entry by drilling a hole through the godown’s wall, allowing them to pilfer the valuable haul, the official explained. On Wednesday, authorities filed a case under sections 331(4) (house-trespass or housebreaking) and 305 (theft in a dwelling house, or means of transportation or place of worship, etc.) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

An investigation is currently in progress, though no suspects have been apprehended, the official added.
