Teacher Faced FIR for Beating Class 5 Student in Mumbai School

A Female teacher in Mumbai has been filed an FIR on charges of beating an 11-year-old class 5 student for speaking out in class. The incident happened on March 21 at a school in Chembur where the teacher had allegedly beaten up the student with a cane multiple times on her wrist, back, and waist, leaving behind visible injuries. The girl’s dad also complained, mentioning that the teacher punished the daughter for looking around in class rather than speaking, as reported by the teacher.
The action of the teacher has resulted in the case being registered against the applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code) and the Juvenile Justice Act. The complaint indicates that the girl was unjustly targeted for an act that did not call for such a severe punishment. The police have ensured that a case in the matter is being investigated.
The incident has raised alarm over school safety for students, with authorities now investigating the teacher’s behavior and the events leading to the incident. Action will be taken as the probe continues.
