Water Supply To Be Disrupted For 24 Hours In Several Areas Of Mumbai

Mumbai: A major water pipeline at Amar Mahal Junction has developed a leak during ongoing Metro construction work, leading to emergency repairs, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Friday.
The 1200 mm diameter pipeline will remain shut for 24 hours. This planned shutdown is expected to affect water supply in several areas across Mumbai’s eastern suburbs and parts of the island city. The BMC has requested residents in the affected localities to store enough water beforehand and use it wisely until the situation is resolved.
Water supply will be partially disrupted in F South ward (including Parel and Sewri), F North (covering Matunga, Sion, and Dadar), L ward (Kurla), M East (Govandi and Mankhurd), and M West (Chembur). the civic body said the supply would remain suspended until the repair work is completed. Once the repairs are finished, water supply will be restored gradually across all impacted areas.
Full Water Supply Shutdown:
M West Ward: Chembur, Swastik Park, Ghatla, Mahul, Union Park, Suman Nagar, Saibaba Nagar, Charai Village, Golf Club, and surrounding localities.
M East Ward: Govandi, Deonar, Mankhurd, Trombay, Lallubhai Compound, Shivaji Nagar, Bainganwadi, and Mandala.
N Ward: Ghatkopar East, Pantnagar, Rajawadi, Garodia Nagar, Naidu Colony, Chirag Nagar, and adjoining localities in Ghatkopar West.
L Ward: Tilak Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Chunabhatti, Kurla East, Rahul Nagar, Sable Nagar, and nearby areas.
F North Ward: Matunga (East), Dadar (East), Wadala, Pratiksha Nagar, Truck Terminal, New Cuffe Parade, and Shiv Koliwada.
Partial Water Supply Shutdown:
F South Ward: Parts of Parel, Sewri, Kalewadi, Naigaon, and hospital zones including KEM, Tata, and Wadia hospitals. Areas such as Mint Colony, Lalbaug, Hindmata, and Abhyudaya Nagar will also see partial disruptions.
