Sunetra Pawar To File Baramati Bypoll Nomination On April 6

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar is set to file her nomination for the upcoming Baramati Assembly bypoll on April 6, according to a report by Free Press Journal. The move marks a crucial step in her political journey as she prepares to contest from a constituency that holds strong political importance in the state.

As reported by Free Press Journal, preparations are underway within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for the nomination process, which is expected to be a significant political event. Party leaders and supporters are likely to be present during the filing, reflecting the importance attached to the Baramati seat.

The by-election was necessitated following the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, which left the Baramati constituency vacant. The Election Commission has already announced the schedule for the bypoll, with voting set to take place later this month.

Sunetra Pawar, who recently assumed office as Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, is contesting the election as the NCP’s candidate. Her candidature is seen as a continuation of the party’s strong presence in Baramati, a constituency long associated with the Pawar family.

According to the Free Press Journal report, party workers are mobilising efforts on the ground ahead of the nomination filing, signalling the beginning of an active campaign phase. The event is expected to draw considerable attention from political observers, given the constituency’s legacy and the current political dynamics in Maharashtra.

The Baramati bypoll is anticipated to be closely watched, as it will not only determine representation from the constituency but also carry broader political implications for the state. With Sunetra Pawar stepping into the electoral fray, the contest is likely to gain momentum in the coming days.
