State Government’s Excellence In Infrastructure Development Is Encouragement For Banks: CM Fadnavis

Mumbai: Maharashtra is a progressive state, and banks have consistently supported the completion of infrastructure projects. Considering the growing need for better roads, the government is focusing on planning road development initiatives. The success of major infrastructure projects like the Samruddhi Expressway has encouraged several banks to finance infrastructure projects in the state. The state government’s outstanding work in infrastructure provides assurance to banks, and this cooperation is expected to continue in the future, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
A review meeting of the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) was held at the Vidhan Bhavan under the chairmanship of CM Fadnavis. Rajguru, UCO Bank Executive Director Nitin Bodke, Bank of Maharashtra General Manager Amit Kumar Sharma, NAFED Vice President Harshal Mahawarkar, Punjab & Sind Bank Chief General Manager Vinod Kumar Pandey, and SBI Capital Ltd. Senior Vice President Asit Ranjan Sikander, among others.
CM Fadnavis stated that with the support of various banks, the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation has received financial assistance of ₹25,875 crore, which is a significant achievement. He expressed satisfaction that the Public Works Department will complete infrastructure projects worth ₹1 lakh crore this year. The state follows RBI guidelines while obtaining loans from banks and ensures their timely repayment. The government is committed to road development based on actual needs rather than recommendations. The planning is done strategically to ensure high-quality roads, and CM Fadnavis urged banks to understand and support the state’s infrastructure planning and implementation.
Focus on Strengthening Infrastructure in the State – Shivendra Raje Bhosale
Public Works Minister Shivendra Raje Bhosale highlighted that various road projects are being implemented under the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation. The first phase of the revised HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model) projects is progressing well. Under CM Fadnavis’ ambitious 100-day program, road construction across 34 districts, covering nearly 5,970 km, has been successfully initiated and even exceeded expectations. These projects will be completed soon, he assured.
Highway Projects to Be Accelerated – Brijesh Dixit
MSIDC Managing Director Brijesh Dixit mentioned that key projects like the Pune-Shirur Flyover, Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur Highway, and Hadapsar-Yavat Highway have received the necessary approvals. These national highway projects will now be completed at an accelerated pace.
