RPF Carries Out Mock Security Drill at Mumbai’s CSMT Amid National Alert

In a heightened security move, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a comprehensive mock drill at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) on Tuesday. The exercise, held under the supervision of Central Railway, is part of a broader nationwide preparedness effort.

Footage released by news agencies captured RPF personnel, along with sniffer dogs and detection equipment, performing thorough security checks across platforms and train compartments as part of the drill.

The Union Home Ministry has instructed all states to carry out mock drills on Wednesday, citing the need to address “new and complex threats” following escalating tensions with Pakistan in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

According to IANS, similar drills are scheduled at 16 strategic locations across Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Uran, Tarapur, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Roha-Nagothane, Manmad, Sinnar, Thal Vaishet, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Aurangabad, Bhusawal, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg.

The coordinated drills aim to test emergency response systems and strengthen security protocols across critical infrastructure zones.
