In the Pune district’s Pimpri Chinchwad, a building collapsed, possibly trapping at least 13 people.
In the midst of intense rain, a massive pile of trash slammed into the structure, causing it to collapse. Teams from the NDRF, the police, and the fire department arrived at the location and began a rescue effort.
The tragedy happened in Moshi, where a private firm handling rubbish on behalf of the city’s civic authority was using the three-story structure as an administrative office.
“A mountain-like mass of debris stood close to the administrative building. Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi told PTI, “On the surface, it seems that the waste mound became loose and collapsed on top of the building due to heavy rains.”
The majority of individuals trapped are thought to be private company workers who were inside the building when the rubbish heap smashed it.
The rescue effort is underway, according to the officer.
Six of the 19 workers who were inside the building when it fell have been saved. The army has been called in by the local government to assist with the rescue effort.
