Mumbai Weather Update: Temperature to Reach 34°C with Moderate AQI of 129

Mumbai : Mumbai residents are in for another hot and dry day as temperatures keep climbing, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). On Tuesday, 18 March 2025, the city saw daylight at 6:44 am, with sunset expected at 6:49 pm. The weather department has forecasted clear skies throughout the day, but the heat will be intensified by increasing humidity levels, making it uncomfortable.

Mumbai began the day with mild morning temperatures of approximately 23 degrees Celsius, which are expected to rise to 33 degrees Celsius by the afternoon. The day’s minimum and maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 23 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius.

Humidity is expected to be around 55%, which could make the weather feel more intense and uncomfortable. The IMD has advised residents to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent heat exhaustion.

The city’s air quality index (AQI) is currently at 129, indicating moderate air quality. An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered moderate, which may cause discomfort for sensitive groups, such as individuals with respiratory conditions like asthma.

The IMD has recommended that people with breathing difficulties or pre-existing health issues limit outdoor activities and avoid exposure to polluted air during peak hours.

Weather outlook for Wednesday:

The IMD’s forecast suggests similar weather conditions for Mumbai on Wednesday, 19 March. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 26°C, while the maximum could reach 34°C. Humidity levels are likely to ease slightly to around 51%, and winds will blow steadily from the northwest at 16 km/h.

The weather department has advised residents to take precautions, such as wearing light cotton clothing, staying hydrated, and avoiding the afternoon sun to manage the heat.

As temperatures continue to rise, Mumbaikars can expect the city to stay warm and dry in the coming days, with moderate air quality contributing to the discomfort.
