Mumbai: Mumbai is expected to witness partly cloudy skies along with light rainfall and thunderstorms over the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather agency has also predicted humid conditions across the city and suburbs, bringing relief from the intense heat at isolated locations.
The IMD stated that Mumbai could experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph in some areas. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail in neighbouring districts as well.
Temperature And Humidity Levels Remain High
Despite rainfall activity, the city is likely to continue experiencing warm and humid weather conditions. The IMD forecast said maximum temperatures in Mumbai are expected to hover around 34 to 35 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures may remain close to 29 degrees Celsius.
Residents may experience discomfort due to rising humidity levels, particularly during daytime hours, even as intermittent showers provide temporary relief.
Rain Activity Across Maharashtra
Apart from Mumbai, several districts across Maharashtra are also expected to receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain in parts of Thane, Raigad, Pune, Nashik, Satara, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg over the coming days.
Some coastal and ghat regions may witness stronger rainfall activity along with lightning and wind speeds of up to 40-50 kmph at isolated places, the weather department added.
IMD Advises Residents To Stay Updated
The IMD has advised citizens to stay updated with official weather bulletins, especially due to the possibility of thunderstorms and sudden weather changes in parts of Maharashtra. Commuters and residents have also been urged to exercise caution during periods of heavy rainfall and lightning activity.
