Yellow Alert Issued for Mumbai and Thane as Moderate Rain Expected

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and Thane on Thursday, August 13, warning of moderate rainfall with the possibility of heavy showers at isolated places.  

Mumbai is expected to remain generally cloudy through the day, with spells of moderate rain likely across the city and surrounding areas. Maximum temperatures are forecast to hover around 31 degrees Celsius.  

In the 24 hours leading up to the alert, the city recorded 8.64 mm of rainfall. Officials have indicated that while widespread intense rain is not anticipated, isolated heavy spells could occur.  

The yellow alert covers Mumbai and Thane, signalling the need for caution during the expected showers. Residents and commuters have been advised to stay updated on local conditions as monsoon activity continues in the region.

Weather forecasts point to continued cloudy conditions with intermittent moderate rain, maintaining the active monsoon pattern over the metropolitan area.
