Weather experts have issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in parts of Mumbai. Conditions are turning favourable for the monsoon to advance into the region, with expectations that it may be officially declared over the city as early as today amid strengthening rain activity. The city woke up to a wet and cloudy morning, with rain-bearing clouds lingering overhead. Heavy showers are anticipated over south Mumbai and sections of the western suburbs in the coming hours as active rain bands move along the coast.
Commuters have been urged to carry umbrellas and remain cautious due to possible intermittent rain accompanied by strong winds through the morning. Pre-monsoon showers have been occurring over the past few days, and further spells of rain, along with thunder and lightning, are forecast for the area. Some low-lying spots reported minor waterlogging, but overall disruption has been limited so far.
The current weather pattern brings relief from recent heat while highlighting the need for preparedness as the monsoon nears. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on local conditions and plan their movements accordingly.
