Mumbai Blanketed in Haze as Air Quality Remains Moderate; Partly Cloudy Skies Ahead

Mumbai residents awoke to persistent hazy conditions on Monday, with the city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 127, falling into the moderate category, according to the Sameer app. This AQI level can lead to breathing discomfort for individuals with lung conditions, asthma, or heart disease.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted partly cloudy skies accompanied by haze over the city and its suburbs. No rainfall was reported, while minimum temperatures stood at 21.4 degrees Celsius in Colaba and 19.8 degrees Celsius in Santacruz.
Air quality varied across neighborhoods, with readings from monitoring stations showing moderate to poorer levels in some areas: Bandra Kurla Complex at 130, Borivali at 130, Byculla at 160, Andheri East at 170, Chembur at 113, Colaba at 112, Deonar at 154, and Ghatkopar at 115.

In Bandra Reclamation, visuals captured a lingering layer of haze, where the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported an AQI of 132, also classified as moderate.
Similar hazy mornings affected other parts of the country. In Delhi, fog reduced visibility, contributing to an overall AQI of 260 in the poor category, with some areas like Anand Vihar reaching very poor levels at 320 and Chandni Chowk at 337. Flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport faced delays due to low visibility, as reported by ANI.
Guwahati experienced a foggy and cold morning with a satisfactory AQI of 72.
