Mumbai Experiences Chilly Start with Cool Temperatures and Moderate Air Pollution Concerns

Mumbai residents greeted a pleasantly cool Wednesday morning as minimum temperatures dipped to between 18.4 degrees Celsius in Santacruz and 22 degrees Celsius in Colaba, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai. The city saw no rainfall during this period.
Air quality in the metropolis stood at a moderate level, registering an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of 116 based on readings from the Sameer app. Health experts noted that individuals suffering from respiratory issues, heart conditions, or asthma could face minor breathing difficulties under these conditions.

Pollution levels showed variation across neighborhoods. Bandra Kurla Complex logged the highest AQI at 170, followed by Ghatkopar at 136, Deonar at 131, Byculla at 128, Kherwadi in Bandra East at 128, Chembur at 124, Colaba at 121, Kandivali at 115, Borivali at 103, and Andheri at 102. Authorities recommended that vulnerable groups, such as those with preexisting health concerns, exercise caution and minimize extended time outdoors.
