Mumbai — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall across Mumbai and its surrounding areas today, prompting a yellow alert for seven districts along the Konkan belt. The warning, issued on Friday, covers Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Dhule, signaling the likelihood of intense showers that could disrupt daily routines.
According to the IMD, a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal is driving the wet weather, with Mumbai expected to experience moderate to heavy rain throughout the day. Some areas may see very heavy downpours, particularly in isolated pockets.
