Mumbai: Mumbai is expected to witness hot and humid weather conditions over the weekend, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting partly cloudy skies and chances of light rainfall in the coming days.
According to the IMD, the city is likely to continue experiencing warm and sticky weather despite intermittent drizzle and cloudy conditions. Temperatures are expected to remain between 28 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius, while isolated thundercloud activity may also develop over the next few days.
Humid Conditions Continue Across Mumbai
Mumbaikars woke up to cloudy skies and uncomfortable humidity on Saturday as the city continued to face unusually warm weather. Although some parts of Mumbai witnessed brief drizzles, the southwest monsoon is yet to make its full arrival in the city.
The weather department stated that humid conditions are likely to persist through the weekend, with occasional light showers possible in isolated areas. The IMD has also indicated the possibility of thundercloud formation during the week.
Rainfall Expected In Coming Days
The IMD has predicted that rainfall activity may gradually increase over Maharashtra in the coming days as conditions become favourable for the further advancement of the southwest monsoon.
Reports suggest that Mumbai could receive intermittent rain and thundershowers later this week, bringing temporary relief from the prevailing heat and humidity. However, no major weather warning has been issued for the city so far.
Temperatures Remain Above Normal
Despite overcast skies and scattered rain activity, Mumbai has continued to record above-normal temperatures. Weather officials said the high humidity levels are making conditions uncomfortable for residents across the city and nearby metropolitan regions.
According to weather forecasts, daytime temperatures are expected to hover around 34 to 35 degrees Celsius over the next few days, while warm nights are also likely to continue.
The IMD has advised residents to remain hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to heat during peak afternoon hours.
