Mumbai experienced a warm and humid start on April 25, 2026, with temperatures climbing early in the day and discomfort expected to persist, according to a report by The Free Press Journal.
As reported by The Free Press Journal, the city recorded a temperature of around 33°C during the morning hours, reflecting the continuing trend of hot weather conditions across the region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that residents should brace for a day marked by high humidity and elevated temperatures, contributing to an overall sultry atmosphere.
The report noted that despite the heat, the city’s air quality remained within the “moderate” category. Data showed the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 63 around 8:30 am. However, pollution levels varied significantly across different parts of Mumbai, with some locations reporting cleaner air while others recorded higher pollution levels. The worst reading was observed in Mirashi Nagar, where the AQI reached 217, placing it in the “unhealthy” category. In contrast, Mulgaon Station 2 in Andheri East registered one of the lowest AQI levels at 13.
According to The Free Press Journal, the weather outlook for the day suggests clear to partly cloudy skies, with no immediate relief from the prevailing heat. The IMD has not issued any severe alerts but continues to monitor conditions as humidity levels remain high, intensifying the discomfort felt by residents.
The ongoing weather pattern highlights Mumbai’s typical pre-monsoon climate, where rising temperatures combined with moisture-laden air create oppressive conditions. Authorities advise residents to stay hydrated and limit exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours.
