Mumbai railway accident :5 dead after falling from thane bound local

Mumbai : A major incident occurred on the Central railway line today morning. Five passengers are said to be dead in this incident. The incident took place between Mumbra and Diva at and around 9:30 am. Total of 10-12 are said to be injured by falling on the tracks.

Central Railway’s decision :

After this decision, the Central railway has ow taken a big decision. The railway administration has informed that the local trains in Mumbai will now have automatic doors. The railway CRPO Swapnil Neela said that to local trains were crossing each other on the CSMT and Kasara track, as soon as both the locals came around each other, the passenger got hit each other and fell on the track. As the passengers fell on the track, the commuters were being taken away by the locals present over there to the hospital. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Kalwa. The Railway Board has decided that automatic doors will be installed in every coach built under the Mumbai Suburban Railway. Apart from this, the coaches of the currently used Mumbai Suburban local will be redesigned and the facility of automatic door closing will also be provided in them, informed Railway CPRO Swapnil Neela.

Initially, it was reported that the passenger fell from the Pushpak Express. However, Swapnil Neela has informed that the Pushpak Express is not related to this accident.
