Mumbai Metro One Rail Grinding Work Begins, Overcrowding Amid Delays

Mumbai: Mumbai Metro One has initiated rail grinding work as part of a planned maintenance programme to enhance commuter safety and improve track conditions, according to a report by Mid-Day. The work began on April 30 and is being carried out as a proactive step to ensure smoother and safer operations on the corridor.

As reported by Mid-Day, the maintenance activity involves grinding the rails to maintain their surface quality and extend their lifespan. Officials stated that the initiative is focused on improving ride comfort and reducing wear and tear on the tracks over time. The process is being undertaken in collaboration with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited.

The report highlights that temporary speed restrictions have been imposed during the maintenance period. As a result, commuters travelling on the Mumbai Metro One line may experience minor delays in train services. However, authorities have indicated that these measures are necessary to carry out the work safely and efficiently.

According to Mid-Day, the rail grinding operation is part of routine upkeep efforts designed to maintain high standards of safety and reliability across the metro network.
