Mumbai Local Train Alert: WR to Enforce Mega Night Blocks Between Mahim-Bandra from April 11-13; Over 300 Services Hit

Western Railway (WR) has announced a major nighttime block between Mahim and Bandra stations for crucial infrastructural upgrades scheduled on the nights of April 11-12 and April 12-13, 2025. The block is being implemented to facilitate the regirdering of Bridge No. 20, a key structural enhancement for ensuring safer and more reliable railway operations.

As per WR officials, the block will impact various train lines during specific hours:

  • On April 11-12, UP and Down Slow lines will be closed from 11:00 pm to 8:30 am, while the Down Fast line will remain shut between 12:30 am and 6:30 am.
  • On April 12-13, all lines—UP, Down Slow, and Down Fast—will be blocked from 11:30 pm to 9:00 am, and the UP Fast line from 11:30 pm to 8:00 am.

The operation is expected to disrupt around 300 suburban trains across both nights, resulting in cancellations, diversions, and changes in schedule. Additionally, several long-distance Mail and Express trains will also face delays or partial cancellations.

A WR official urged passengers to plan accordingly and stay updated on train schedules, emphasizing the importance of the project for long-term infrastructure safety.
