Mumbai Local Train Alert: WR to Enforce Mega Night Blocks Between Mahim-Bandra from April 11-13; Over 300 Services Hit

Western Railway (WR) has announced a major nighttime block between Mahim and Bandra stations for crucial infrastructural upgrades scheduled on the nights of April 11-12 and April 12-13, 2025. The block is being implemented to facilitate the regirdering of Bridge No. 20, a key structural enhancement for ensuring safer and more reliable railway operations.
As per WR officials, the block will impact various train lines during specific hours:
- On April 11-12, UP and Down Slow lines will be closed from 11:00 pm to 8:30 am, while the Down Fast line will remain shut between 12:30 am and 6:30 am.
- On April 12-13, all lines—UP, Down Slow, and Down Fast—will be blocked from 11:30 pm to 9:00 am, and the UP Fast line from 11:30 pm to 8:00 am.
The operation is expected to disrupt around 300 suburban trains across both nights, resulting in cancellations, diversions, and changes in schedule. Additionally, several long-distance Mail and Express trains will also face delays or partial cancellations.
A WR official urged passengers to plan accordingly and stay updated on train schedules, emphasizing the importance of the project for long-term infrastructure safety.
Impact on Suburban Train Services
April 11-12 (Friday/Saturday):
- Slow trains departing Churchgate post 10:23 pm will run on Fast lines and skip stops at Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim, and Khar Road.
- Slow trains from Virar, Bhayandar, Borivali will also use Fast lines and bypass the same stations.
- The last slow Churchgate-Bhayander train: 10:23 pm.
- The last fast Churchgate-Virar train: 11:40 pm.
- Modified services will operate between Churchgate-Dadar on Fast lines, Goregaon-Bandra on Harbour lines, and Virar-Andheri on both Slow and Fast lines.
- First train on Saturday from Virar to Churchgate: 5:47 am.
April 12-13 (Saturday/Sunday):
- All Churchgate-Dadar services will operate on Fast lines.
- Trains from Dahanu, Virar, Nallasopara, Vasai, Bhayandar, and Borivali will terminate at Andheri.
- Harbour line services will continue between Goregaon and Bandra/Mahim.
- Last Churchgate-Virar slow train: 10:53 pm, fast: 11:05 pm.
- First Sunday train from Virar to Churchgate: 8:08 am.
- First AC service from Bhayander to Churchgate: 8:24 am.
Mail/Express Train Disruptions
Short Termination/Origination:
- Trains like 09052 Bhusaval-Dadar Special, 12927 Dadar-Ekta Nagar Express, and 19003 Dadar-Bhusaval Khandesh Express will short terminate or originate at Borivali, skipping Dadar-Mumbai Central sections.
Rescheduled Services:
- Notable changes include:
- Vande Bharat (20901) rescheduled to 6:15 am (April 12) and 8:50 am (April 13).
- Shatabdi (12009) and Gujarat SF Express (22953) moved to 6:30 am and 6:40 am, respectively.
- Other rescheduled trains include the Avantika Express, Rajdhani Express, and Duronto Express, with delays ranging from 30 minutes to over an hour.
- Vande Bharat (20901) rescheduled to 6:15 am (April 12) and 8:50 am (April 13).
