Mumbai Local Mega Block Hits Sunday Commute: What You Need to Know

Mumbai’s local train network will face disruptions this Sunday, June 29, due to a scheduled mega block for critical maintenance work. Central Railway authorities have planned track and overhead wire repairs across the Central, Harbour, and Trans-Harbour lines to improve daily operations. Commuters should brace for delays and cancellations during the maintenance window.

Here’s what you need to know:

Central Line (Thane–Kalyan)
Time: 10:40 AM to 3:40 PM
Details: Fast line trains in both directions will switch to the slow line between Thane and Kalyan.

  • Down (CSMT to Kalyan): Trains departing from 9:34 AM to 3:03 PM will stop at Kalva, Mumbra, and Diva, arriving approximately 10 minutes late.
  • Up (Kalyan to CSMT): Services from 10:28 AM to 3:40 PM will use the slow line up to Mulund, stopping at Diva, Mumbra, and Kalva, with similar 10-minute delays.

Harbour Line (Vashi–Panvel)
Time: 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM
Details: Expect delayed trains and multiple cancellations.

  • Cancelled Up Trains: Panvel to CSMT services from 10:33 AM to 3:49 PM.
  • Cancelled Down Trains: CSMT to Panvel/Belapur trains from 9:45 AM to 3:12 PM.
  • Special local trains will operate between CSMT and Vashi to ease commuter inconvenience.

Trans-Harbour Line (Thane–Vashi/Panvel)
Time: 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM
Details: Services will be halted during the block.

  • Cancelled Up Trains: Panvel to Thane from 11:02 AM to 3:53 PM.
  • Cancelled Down Trains: Thane to Panvel from 10:01 AM to 3:20 PM.

Unaffected Lines
The Western Line and Uran suburban services will operate normally on Sunday, with no mega block scheduled.
