Mumbai: More than 22,000 police personnel will be deployed across Mumbai to maintain law and order during the Ganpati idol immersion processions this year.
Mumbai Police will use Artificial Intelligence (AI) for route management and to track traffic-related updates in real time. Drones will also be pressed into service to monitor crowds and keep watch over sensitive locations during the immersions.

Security Deployment
The security arrangement will include companies of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), four companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Quick Response Teams (QRTs), and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), all of whom will be stationed at various points across the city.
Transport Arrangements
Mumbai Police Commissioner Manoj Sharma has appealed to railway authorities and the Metro administration to consider running services round-the-clock, so that citizens travelling during the immersion processions do not face inconvenience.
Police have also urged Mumbaikars to avoid paying attention to rumours and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
