MNS workers slap security guard in Powai Mumbai for ‘not speaking Marathi’ | Video Viral

Mumbai: A viral video has sparked controversy in Powai after a security guard allegedly disrespected the Marathi language. The incident, which took place at L&T, shows the guard saying, “Marathi gaya tel lagane” (Marathi can go to hell), triggering strong reactions.
Following the video’s circulation, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers reached the location and confronted the guard. The situation escalated, with MNS members allegedly assaulting him for his remarks.
Viral Video Captures Heated Confrontation
In a video shared by मनसे वृत्तांत अधिकृत portal on facebook, the security guard is seen refusing to converse in Marathi. His remarks led to a heated argument, after which he was surrounded by MNS workers. In the footage, the guard is seen standing with folded hands in an apparent apology. MNS members are heard advising him to learn Marathi and shed his arrogance.
As of now, no official police action has been reported regarding the incident.
Similar Incident at D-Mart in Andheri
This controversy follows a recent incident at a D-Mart outlet in Versova, Andheri West, where an employee was allegedly assaulted by MNS members for refusing to speak Marathi. On March 25, a video surfaced showing the employee responding to a customer’s request in Hindi, stating he did not know Marathi and would not speak it. His remarks caught the attention of MNS leaders, prompting their intervention.
