Milind Deora Hits Out at Uddhav Thackeray for Europe Trip During Pahalgam Crisis, Praises Eknath Shinde’s Leadership

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora sharply criticized Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday for vacationing in Europe amid the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
Taking to social media platform X, Deora remarked that Thackeray chose leisure in Europe while “bullets flew in Pahalgam,” highlighting a perceived absence of solidarity or public statement from the Thackeray family during a critical time.
Drawing a sharp contrast, Deora commended Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for actively assisting victims of the attack. He praised Shinde for stepping up efforts to bring back stranded tourists after the tragic incident on April 22 in South Kashmir.
Deora, a former Congress Lok Sabha MP from Mumbai, said, “From sons of the soil to tourists of India how far the Thackerays have fallen. While bullets flew in #Pahalgam, they were vacationing in Europe. On #MaharashtraDay, they vanished without a word. No statement. No solidarity.”
He emphasized that Maharashtra requires “warriors on duty,” not leaders who vanish during crises. Sources within Shiv Sena (UBT) indicated that the Thackerays were scheduled to return from their European trip on Sunday.
