Mumbai: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has launched its 2026 lottery, offering 2,640 affordable homes for sale in various parts of Mumbai. The scheme covers locations including Vikhroli, Goregaon, Borivali, Gorai, Chembur, Bandra, Ghatkopar, Wadala, Powai, and Dadar, among others. The advertisement for the lottery appeared on March 30 in newspapers statewide and on MHADA’s official website (https://housing.mhada.gov.in). The authority has also released the list of apartment prices.
Hindustan Times was the first to report that MHADA planned to announce a lottery for around 2,500 apartments by March 31. Online registration and application submission began on March 30, 2026, at 3 PM.
Step-by-Step Application Process
Prospective buyers must follow these steps on the official MHADA portal:
1. Registration: Visit https://housing.mhada.gov.in and create a username. Fill in basic details to register. Keep ready documents such as Aadhaar card and domicile certificate.
2. Online Application: Log in, select the relevant lottery and scheme, complete the application form, and submit it. Even applicants already registered on the MHADA website must submit a fresh application for this cycle. Print the acknowledgement slip after submission.
3. Payment of Earnest Money Deposit (EMD): Pay the required EMD through RTGS or NEFT after submitting the form.
