Major Fire Breaks Out at Mumbai’s Jogeshwari JMS Business Centre, Several Rescued from Top Floors | Watch Video

Mumbai: A massive fire erupted on Thursday at the JMS Business Centre in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari West, sparking panic among occupants and local residents. Firefighting teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving the alert and have since brought the situation under control.

Videos circulating on social media show flames and smoke engulfing the upper floors of the high-rise building as firefighters work to evacuate stranded occupants. Several people were seen waving for help from the top floors before being safely rescued by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).

According to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the incident was categorized as a Level-II fire, prompting the immediate deployment of multiple fire engines and rescue teams. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

Eyewitness Account
Local resident Saliq Khan, who witnessed the fire, described the tense moments when flames took over multiple floors. “When we woke up this morning, we saw fire on the top four floors of the building. It spread quickly, and I immediately called the police control room. The fire brigade reached soon after,” Khan told reporters.

He added that rescue operations continued for some time as people trapped inside were safely evacuated. “The fire was eventually contained, but it was quite intense in the beginning,” he said.

Cause of Fire Yet to Be Determined
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire, which reportedly began in the upper portion of the commercial tower. Firefighters continued cooling operations for several hours to prevent reignition.

The incident comes amid growing concern over fire safety protocols in Mumbai’s commercial establishments, with several similar fires reported in recent months.
