Maharashtra Bus Crash 2 Dead and Nearly 20 Injured On Latur-Solapur Highway ( WATCH )

Latur, Maharashtra: Two people died and approximately 15-20 others were injured when two tourist buses crashed on the Latur-Solapur highway during the early hours of Thursday. The collision occurred near Ashiv Phata along the Tuljapur-Latur section of the highway.

Rear-End Collision Between Tourist Vehicles

Initial investigations indicate that one tourist bus traveling from Pune to Latur struck the back of another bus on the same route. The force of the impact left multiple passengers trapped inside the vehicles with serious injuries. Police and emergency medical teams, including five ambulances, quickly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations.

Medical Response and Treatment

Emergency responders transported all injured victims to Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Hospital in Latur, where medical staff are providing ongoing treatment for their injuries.

Second Fatal Incident This Week

This deadly crash occurred near the same location where former BJP MLA R.T. Deshmukh died in a separate road accident just four days prior. In Deshmukh’s case, the driver reported that accumulated rainwater on the roadway splashed onto the windshield, creating visibility issues that led to sudden braking, loss of vehicle control, and multiple rollovers. Deshmukh suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Sahyadri Hospital in Latur.

The proximity of these two serious accidents within days of each other highlights ongoing safety concerns along this particular stretch of highway.
