Bollywood veteran's family sells 2.4-acre Mumbai property to Japanese tech giant NTT Global Data Centers through two family entities
Bollywood icon Jeetendra Kapoor and his family have completed the sale of a premium Mumbai property in Andheri, fetching Rs 855 crore from NTT Global Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure, according to documentation reviewed by proptech platform Square Yards.
The buyer, NTT, represents Japan’s leading technology conglomerate and stands as India’s foremost data center operator alongside being a major IT services provider.
Completed in May 2025, the high-value transaction was structured through two Kapoor family-controlled entities – Pantheon Buildcon and Tusshar Infra Developers. The sold asset comprises two adjoining land parcels spanning 9,664.68 square metres, equivalent to approximately 2.4 acres.
The property currently accommodates Balaji IT Park, featuring three existing commercial structures. Official records indicate the land’s assessed market worth at Rs 729.26 crore.
Transaction costs included stamp duty payments of approximately Rs 8.69 crore and registration fees of Rs 30,000, as detailed in government documentation.
The deal aligns with broader market trends as international technology corporations – including NTT, Microsoft, Google Cloud, and AWS – accelerate their data center infrastructure expansion across India to serve regional clientele. The artificial intelligence revolution has further intensified demand for data center facilities.
Andheri represents one of Mumbai’s key commercial and residential districts, hosting numerous corporate headquarters and technology parks.
Kapoor, a cinema veteran with over 200 film credits, serves as promoter and non-executive chairman of Balaji Telefilms, a leading entertainment production house renowned for creating popular television content and films nationwide. The company operates under the leadership of his daughter Ekta Kapoor. His son Tusshar Kapoor also maintains an active presence in Hindi cinema as both actor and producer.
