Traffic Updates Announced In Dombivli East, Check Diversion Plan For Commuters
Dombivli : Motorists and local residents in Dombivli East have been warned of changes to traffic patterns as a key stretch of Patharli Road will be closed beginning February 3, 2026, to allow for road resurfacing work, according to a traffic advisory issued by authorities. The temporary closure covers the section between the Sarovar Bar restaurant and the Sai Baba Temple, a busy route regularly used by commuters. The Thane Traffic Police said that because of the narrow nature of the road, it will be completely closed for vehicles while the paving project is underway.

To ease congestion and maintain safety, the police have outlined alternative routes for drivers. Vehicles travelling from Dombivli East towards MIDC Road via Patharli Road will be stopped near Sarovar Bar Restaurant. From there, drivers are directed to turn left onto Balaji Mandir Road and continue through Gymkhana Road to reach their destinations. Traffic personnel will be stationed at major intersections to help guide motorists and manage peak-hour flows.
Drivers approaching from the Sai Baba Temple and MIDC Road side will also face temporary restrictions near the temple. These motorists can detour via Ice Factory Road towards Manpada Road or choose the route through Gymkhana and Balaji Mandir roads. Officials have asked commuters to heed posted signs and cooperate with traffic staff to reduce inconvenience.
The Thane City Police’s order, signed by Pankaj Shirsat under the Motor Vehicles Act, notes that emergency vehicles and essential services such as ambulances, fire tenders and oxygen carriers will not be subject to the closure until the work is completed.
