Dahisar-Kashimira Metro Services On Line 9 Expected To Start By December-End, Announces Maharashtra Transport Minister

Mira-Bhayandar: Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik on Thursday, November 20, announced that Metro services between Dahisar and Kashimira on Line 9 are expected to commence operations by the end of December. The minister made the announcement following an inspection of the route conducted earlier in the day.

Taking to his official social media handle on X (formerly Twitter), the transport minister stated, “Metro services are planned to be started on the Dahisar-Kashimira route by the end of December, and this will be a happy moment for the residents of Mira-Bhayander”.

The Transport Minister further noted that once the route becomes operational, residents of Mira-Bhayandar will gain access to the metro network connecting them to South Mumbai’s Mantralaya and Vidhan Bhavan. He also provided an update stating that the Dahisar-Kashimira metro corridor will be extended to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Maidan by December 2026.

Regarding inauguration plans, Sarnaik said that once the metro route from Dahisar to Kashimira receives certification from the Metro Railway Safety Commissioner (CMRS), arrangements are in place for an inauguration ceremony by the end of December. He added that the inauguration will be conducted by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.

Mumbai Metro Line 9

Metro Line 9 is an extension of Line 7 from Andheri to CSIA and Dahisar to Mira Bhayandar.

The 13.581 km metro corridor will serve 10 stations: Dahisar, Pandhurang Wadi, Miragaon, Kashigaon, Sai Baba Nagar, Meditiya Nagar, Shahid Bhagat Singh Garden, and Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium. The Andheri (E) to CSIA extension will include Airport Colony (elevated) and CSIA (underground) stations.
