Firefighters Battle Intense Blaze at Bhiwandi Dyeing Factory

A massive fire broke out at a dyeing factory in Bhiwandi, located in Maharashtra’s Thane district, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, triggering a swift response from local authorities. Fire tenders were promptly dispatched to the scene to combat the raging flames, according to reports from ANI. The intense blaze caused significant disruption in the Kamatghar area, with firefighting operations continuing overnight as teams worked to bring the fire under control.
The presence of cloth materials within the factory fueled the fire’s intensity, complicating efforts to extinguish it, an official told the Press Trust of India (PTI). At least two fire engines remained on-site to tackle the blaze, which erupted late Friday evening around 10 p.m. No injuries or casualties have been reported, providing some relief amidst the chaotic situation. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and further details are awaited as investigations continue.
This incident follows another recent fire in Maharashtra, where a firecracker shop in Mumbai’s Malad area caught fire on Thursday due to a short circuit, as confirmed by Malad Assistant Commissioner of Police Hemant Sawant in a statement to ANI. That blaze, which occurred in the Somwaari Bazar area, was quickly controlled with no reported injuries, and the shop’s owner was confirmed to be a licensed operator.
The Bhiwandi fire underscores ongoing concerns about industrial safety in the region, which has seen multiple fire incidents in recent years. Authorities are focused on containing the blaze and preventing further damage, with updates expected as the situation develops.
