5 Dead, 7 Critically Hurt As Van Tumbles Into Ravine In Maharashtra’s Amravati

Amravati: A devastating accident in Maharashtra’s Amravati district resulted in five fatalities and seven severe injuries when a pickup van careened off a mountain road and fell into a steep gorge.
The incident took place on Monday along the Ranigaon Ghat road in the Dharani taluka area, roughly two kilometers past Shivazhiri. Officials stated that the vehicle lost control on the winding, narrow path and plummeted into the ravine below.
Five individuals perished immediately at the scene of the crash, and the remaining seven passengers suffered critical wounds. The rescue mission proved difficult owing to the confined ghat roadway and the significant depth of the gorge.
Local police, administrative personnel, and nearby residents quickly mobilized to the location, initiating urgent recovery operations. The survivors were extracted from the depths and transported to Dharani Sub-District Hospital for medical care.
Investigators are currently examining the factors behind the mishap, determining the exact count of occupants in the van, and working to confirm the identities of those killed and hurt.
