Ajit Pawar Champions Muslim Unity at Iftar, Warns of Tough Action Amid Aurangzeb Tomb Protests

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar recently hosted an iftar gathering in Mumbai during the holy month of Ramadan. Speaking at the event, Pawar emphasized the importance of India’s cultural unity and expressed concerns regarding the safety and rights of Muslims in the country.

Pawar specifically warned against any actions that could potentially threaten the well-being of the Muslim community, particularly in the context of ongoing debates surrounding the tomb of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Highlighting India’s strength in its diversity, Pawar urged people to resist any forces attempting to create division within the society. He mentioned the concurrent celebration of festivals like Holi, Gudi Padwa, and Eid as a symbol of this unity.

Reassuring the Muslim community of his support, Pawar underscored the significance of Ramadan as a period for self-discipline, compassion, and empathy.

Furthermore, he issued a strong warning stating that the government would take strict action against anyone found attempting to intimidate Muslims or incite communal unrest.

Pawar’s remarks come at a time of heightened political discussion in Maharashtra, particularly concerning demands to remove Aurangzeb’s grave.
