Aditya Thackeray Denies Allegations, Claims BJP Is Attempting to Malign Him in Disha Salian Case

Disha Salian’s death has sparked a political controversy again after her father accused Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray of being involved in the alleged rape and murder of his daughter.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray has strongly dismissed allegations linking him to the 2020 death of Disha Salian, former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Thackeray accused the ruling parties of using these accusations to target him, asserting that they had nothing substantial to say and were merely trying to defame him. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former minister Aaditya Thackeray on Thursday said there were efforts to malign him in connection with the June 2020 death of Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and that he will respond to the allegations in court.

Speaking to reporters, Thackeray stated that he would address these allegations in court. His remarks came after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called for his arrest in connection with the case, which has resurfaced following Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, seeking a fresh probe into her death.

The BJP’s demand intensified after it was revealed that the state government had set up a special investigation team in December 2023 to review the case. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government reiterated that they would follow court orders, ensuring that no one, regardless of their position, would be spared if found guilty.
