Tragedy in Mumbai: Young Woman’s Fatal Leap from High-Rise

A 20-year-old college student took her own life by leaping from the terrace of a 14-storey residential building in the Dadar neighborhood, authorities reported Wednesday. The incident occurred at Techno Heights in Hindu Colony, where Zana Sethia, a third-year B Com student, resided with her parents on the eighth floor, according to a police official.
The official recounted that on Tuesday evening, Sethia ascended to the terrace with two close friends who often visited her. Without warning, she jumped, leaving her companions unable to intervene. Emergency responders pronounced her dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.
While no suicide note was discovered, investigators recovered Sethia’s diary, which contained entries suggesting she had been contemplating suicide. Friends told police that she had been grappling with depression, a condition they linked to a recent romantic breakup.
