Zelenskyy Claims Russia Helped Iran Target US Bases Using Satellite Intelligence

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has alleged that Russia may have played a role in supporting recent Iranian strikes on United States military bases in the Middle East by providing critical intelligence. According to a report by The Times of India, Zelenskyy claimed that Russian satellites had captured detailed images of US and allied military installations in the Gulf region prior to the attacks.

Citing intelligence briefings, Zelenskyy stated that several strategic locations—including air bases and infrastructure linked to US operations were reportedly monitored by Russian satellites in the days leading up to the strikes. These locations included facilities in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Gulf, raising concerns about possible intelligence-sharing between Moscow and Tehran.

As reported by The Times of India, Zelenskyy suggested that the surveillance activity was not routine but potentially linked to preparations for targeted strikes. He indicated that such reconnaissance typically precedes military action, pointing to a possible connection between the satellite imaging and subsequent Iranian attacks.

The Ukrainian leader also questioned the rationale behind easing sanctions on Russia, arguing that such moves could indirectly support actions that destabilise global security. He emphasised that intelligence cooperation between Russia and Iran, if confirmed, would have serious implications for ongoing conflicts and international relations.

The allegations come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, where Iran has been involved in missile and drone strikes targeting US and allied positions. While Zelenskyy’s claims highlight concerns about deepening ties between Russia and Iran, there has been no immediate independent verification of the allegations.

The development adds another layer of complexity to an already volatile geopolitical situation, with multiple global powers involved either directly or indirectly. As tensions continue to rise, such claims are likely to intensify scrutiny of international alliances and military cooperation in the region.
