Viral Video Shows Unarmed Bystander Disarming Gunman At Sydney’s Bondi Beach Shooting | VIDEO

During the unfolding crisis, an unarmed civilian confronted and overpowered one of the attackers at Bondi Beach. A 15-second clip that has spread rapidly across social media captured the dramatic moment when the man ducked behind parked vehicles before rushing the shooter from behind.

The footage shows him seizing the gunman by the neck, forcibly taking the rifle, and subduing him on the ground while turning the weapon on the attacker.

Witnesses reported that the shooter had been concealed behind a tree before the bystander’s intervention.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the Bondi scenes as “shocking and distressing” and offered his condolences.

“Police and emergency responders are on the ground working to save lives. My thoughts are with every person affected. I have just spoken to the AFP Commissioner and with the NSW Premier. We are working with the NSW Police and will provide further updates as more information is confirmed. I urge people in the vicinity to follow information from the NSW Police,” his statement read.

New South Wales Police confirmed that ten people died in the attack, including one individual believed to be a shooter, while the second suspected gunman remains in critical condition. An additional 11 people sustained injuries, with two being police officers.

Authorities shared on X that they were “responding to a developing incident” at Bondi Beach and instructed the public to evacuate the area and find shelter.

“Police are responding to a developing incident at Bondi Beach and are urging the public to avoid the area. Anyone at the scene should take shelter. Police are on scene and more information will be provided when it comes to hand,” the post stated.

Emergency services received calls about gunfire on Campbell Parade around 6:45 pm local time, triggering a significant deployment of officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command.

Two suspects have been detained as part of the investigation. The entire area remains under lockdown with security operations continuing, and officials are asking civilians to stay away from the vicinity.
