US Vice President JD Vance Issues Stern Warning To Iran Against Any Future Nuclear Weapon Following Ceasefire Announcement

In the wake of President Donald Trump’s declaration of a “complete and total ceasefire” between Iran and Israel, Vice President JD Vance has delivered a pointed warning to Tehran over its nuclear ambitions. Speaking in a televised interview, Vance cautioned Iran against pursuing nuclear weapons, stating that any such move would provoke a forceful American response.
“If they want to build a nuclear weapon in the future, they’re going to have to deal with a very, very powerful American military again,” Vance warned. He underscored that while the United States is not engaged in direct conflict with Iran, it remains firmly opposed to the country’s nuclear development efforts. “We’re not at war with Iran… We’re at war with Iran’s nuclear program,” he said.
Vance’s remarks follow President Trump’s ceasefire announcement, which comes amid skepticism due to reports of ongoing hostilities in the region. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the ceasefire’s effectiveness, Vance reiterated the U.S. commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
“Our goal was to bury the uranium, and I do think the uranium is buried, but our goal was to eliminate their ability to convert that enriched fuel into a nuclear weapon,” Vance said, responding to a question about Iran’s stockpile of approximately 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% purity, below the weapons-grade threshold of 92%.
The Vice President declined to comment directly on whether U.S. strikes had destroyed Iranian nuclear facilities, citing the need to protect “sensitive intelligence” gathered by operatives on the ground. However, he did assert that the military action over the weekend had “substantially delayed” Iran’s progress toward developing a nuclear weapon.
Iran’s enriched uranium reserves remain largely unaccounted for, and the extent of damage to key facilities such as Fordow is still unclear. As the situation continues to evolve, Vance’s firm stance signals that the U.S. is prepared to act decisively against any renewed nuclear threat.
