Trump Expresses Anger Over Putin’s Claim of Ukrainian Drone Strike on His Residence

US President Donald Trump revealed on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin informed him of an alleged Ukrainian attempt to target Putin’s residence in northern Russia using drones, an accusation firmly rejected by Kyiv.

Speaking to reporters, Trump described his reaction to the claim as one of strong displeasure. “I learned about it from President Putin today. I was very angry about it,” he said.

When questioned whether the incident might complicate his ongoing initiatives to negotiate peace in the region, Trump responded: “I don’t like it. It’s not good.” He emphasized the sensitivity of the current moment, adding, “It’s a delicate period of time. This is not the right time. It’s one thing to be offensive, because they’re offensive. It’s another thing to attack his house. It’s not the right time to do any of that.”

Trump noted that he would seek verification of the allegation, stating, “We’ll find out,” when asked about evidence supporting the claim.

The president characterized his earlier telephone conversation with Putin that day as productive, saying it was a “very good talk.” He acknowledged challenges in discussions aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine, referring to “a few very thorny issues.”
