Trump Dismisses Elon’s Car Rumours: “No Sale” For Red Tesla, May “Move It Around”

President Donald Trump dismissed reports he plans to sell his red Tesla, stating he has “no such plans” despite recent tensions with Elon Musk. Responding to a reporter’s question during a June 9th White House press conference, Trump declared, “No, I may move it around a little bit.”

When pressed on where the vehicle would be relocated, the President quipped, “I have a lot of locations.” He further clarified he has no intention of discontinuing Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service, calling it “a great service.”

Regarding potential talks with Musk, Trump remarked, “Umm… I haven’t really thought about it actually. I would imagine he wants to speak to me. I think so! If I were him, I would want to speak to me.” He added, “Maybe he’s already called. You’d have to ask him… But I’d have no problems with it,” describing their past relationship as “good” and wishing Musk “well, very well actually.”

These comments follow a public feud between the once-allied figures, sparked by Musk’s criticism of Trump’s policies post-DOGE resignation and Musk’s claims on X (formerly Twitter) linking Trump to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Background on the Tesla

A Wall Street Journal report, citing White House officials, suggested Trump was considering selling or giving away the red Tesla. The vehicle was purchased as part of a White House photo-op to promote Musk’s company but became contentious amid global anti-Musk protests and Tesla boycott calls. CBS noted the car had been parked outside the West Wing for weeks, remaining there as of yesterday evening. Trump previously called it his “beautiful” Tesla, noting he spent “a lot of money” on it and that his staff enjoyed driving it on White House grounds.
