LOS ANGELES – Global pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have announced their engagement, sharing the news via a joint Instagram post on Tuesday. The couple, both 35, captioned their post, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” accompanied by images of Kelce proposing to Swift in a garden adorned with pink and white flowers. One photo captured Kelce on one knee, while another showcased a large diamond ring on Swift’s left hand, set to the tune of her song “So High School.”
Their romance began in July 2023 after Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert in Kansas City, attempting to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number. Swift, charmed by the gesture, told Time magazine in 2023 that they started dating soon after, enjoying private time before going public. Their relationship became official when Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2023, cheering alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna. Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner, has since been a regular at Chiefs games, including two Super Bowls, though her frequent TV appearances during broadcasts drew some criticism from NFL fans for diverting attention from the games.

Ed Kelce, Travis’s father, told News 5 Cleveland the proposal occurred nearly two weeks ago in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with Kelce awaiting Swift’s approval to share the news publicly.
