Sydney’s Bondi Beach Shooting: Two Detained As Police Investigate Active Incident

Sydney police confirmed they are managing an ongoing situation at Bondi Beach following reports of an active shooter on Sunday, December 14. Authorities have detained two individuals as the investigation continues.
Law enforcement officials have issued warnings to the public, asking them to stay away from the vicinity. The incident occurred while a Hanukkah celebration event was taking place in the area. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots.
Emergency medical teams transported eight individuals to various hospitals across Sydney after providing treatment at the location, according to a New South Wales ambulance service representative speaking to AFP.
“We have treated multiple people on the scene and at this stage taken eight people to different Sydney hospitals,” the spokesperson confirmed.
The NSW Police Force shared on X that officers are addressing the unfolding situation and advised people to seek immediate shelter if present at the scene.

Police provided an updated statement emphasizing that while two suspects are now in custody, operations at Bondi Beach remain active.
