Heartbreaking Video of Sunjay Kapur’s Collapse at Polo Match Goes Viral

New Delhi: A poignant video capturing the final moments of businessman Sunjay Kapur, who passed away on June 12 after suffering a heart attack during a polo match in London, has spread widely across social media. The clip, shared by Kapur’s friend Ajit Nandal, shows the 53-year-old industrialist lying motionless on the polo field as emergency responders attempt CPR to revive him.

Kapur, the former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, was playing at the Guards Polo Club when he reportedly swallowed a bee, triggering a fatal allergic reaction. Despite immediate medical efforts, he could not be saved. Nandal, a former Indian hockey team member, posted the video on June 14, captioning it, “Last rescue video of Sanjay Kapoor 🙏 match between Sajjan jaisal and Sanjay team, sujjan also there 🐎 Very sad time for all horse lovers, Rest in peace my friend 🙏 #sanjaykapoor #polo.”
Kapur’s funeral took place in Delhi on June 19, attended by Karisma Kapoor and their two children, Samaira and Kiaan, as well as Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. A prayer meet was scheduled for June 22 at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi. Kapur is survived by his wife, Priya Sachdev, their son Azarias, and his children from his marriage to Karisma.

Before his death, Kapur expressed condolences on X for victims of an Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, writing, “Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour.”
