Russia strikes Kyiv with drones and missiles, killing 3 including infant; Ukraine hits Russian oil pipeline

At least two people, including a one-year-old child, were killed on Sunday when Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. Smoke was seen rising near the Cabinet of Ministers building, though officials could not immediately confirm whether the government offices were directly hit, the Associated Press reported.
Kyiv city administration chief Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that rescuers pulled the child’s body from the rubble. In total, eleven people were reported injured in the strike. Authorities noted that Russia has generally refrained from hitting central government buildings during the war, making Sunday’s attack particularly alarming.
This marks the second mass Russian assault on Kyiv with drones and missiles in just two weeks, deepening the collapse of prospects for peace talks as Moscow intensifies its air campaign.
In a retaliatory move, Ukrainian forces targeted the Druzhba oil pipeline in Russia’s Bryansk region, which carries Russian crude to Hungary and Slovakia. Ukraine’s drone commander Robert Brovdi said the strike caused “comprehensive fire damage” to the vital energy corridor.
