A significant earthquake with a revised magnitude of 6.9 struck the central Philippines on Tuesday, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS). The agency had initially recorded the tremor at 7.0.

The USGS located the quake’s epicenter approximately 11 kilometers east-southeast of Calape, a town in Bohol province with an estimated population of 33,000 people. The seismic event jolted the region, with details on potential damage or casualties yet to be confirmed.
