Pak-Linked Conversion Racket Busted In Agra; Network Used Social Media, LudoStar, Encrypted Apps And Dark Web

Agra : Agra Police on Saturday revealed that they have uncovered a religious conversion racket that has connections extending internationally, with multiple girls reportedly communicating with contacts in Pakistan. The investigators also found that money transactions were conducted through crowdfunding and cryptocurrency. Funds were also sent to and received from Gaza.

Two Pakistan-based individuals, Tanveer Ahmed and Sahil Adeeb, are identified as the leaders of the network. They reportedly ran several WhatsApp and online groups from Pakistan. These groups shared and discussed religious materials. Some Kashmiri girls also played a role by linking others to Pakistan-based groups and promoting conversion.

Rahman Qureshi, managed financial transactions within the network. He was questioned by Agra police and central agencies. Investigators found that the network operated under the name “DAWAH” and aimed to spread Islam in India by 2050. The group targeted individuals facing emotional distress or family problems.

They also approached people in crowded public places like hospitals, courts and police stations, as well as workers in unorganised sectors, offering solutions to personal problems. The group referred to converted individuals as “Revert” and maintained active groups on various social media platforms.

Police identified Abdul Rahman from Delhi and Ayesha from Goa as leaders of the group. Abdul Rahman, who converted in 1990, reportedly had links with a jailed ATS suspect. All arrested individuals were found to be connected with Rahman and Ayesha. Girls from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were reportedly targeted by the group and later rescued.
