OnlyFans Founder Leonid Radvinsky Dies At 43

Leonid Radvinsky, the Ukrainian-born billionaire who owned OnlyFans, has died at 43 following a prolonged fight with cancer. The company confirmed he “passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer” and asked the public to respect his family’s privacy.

Radvinsky grew up in Chicago and earned an economics degree from Northwestern University. He bought OnlyFans in 2018 from its two UK-based founders, just two years after the platform launched in 2016.

The timing turned out to be fortuitous. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the site’s user numbers exploded enough to land Radvinsky on Forbes’ billionaires list by 2021, only three years after his acquisition.

OnlyFans operates as a subscription-based social media platform where creators post photos and videos for paying subscribers. While its creator base covers everything from cooking to fitness, the site is best known for adult content. Its model allows direct interaction between creators and fans through livestreams, personalised messages, and custom content requests. OnlyFans takes a 20% cut of all payments processed on the platform.

The numbers behind the business are substantial. According to the company’s most recent Companies House filing, OnlyFans generated $1.4 billion in revenue in 2024, had over 377 million registered subscribers, and hosted content from around 4.6 million creators.

Beyond OnlyFans, Radvinsky ran a Florida-based venture capital firm called Leo.com, through which he invested in other tech companies. OnlyFans noted he also supported “several philanthropic projects globally,” without providing further detail.
